ECCKSA at the EU-GCC Business Forum in Kuwait City
The European Chamber of Commerce in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (ECCKSA) was honoured to represent its members at the 9th edition of the EU-GCC Business Forum earlier this month, convened by the EU-GCC Dialogue on Economic Diversification in cooperation with The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait, and the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority. Taking place in Kuwait City under the theme “Together for Shared Prosperity”, the Forum enabled ECCKSA, through a dedicated booth, to highlight the expanding role of European businesses in Saudi Arabia’s economic transformation and across the Gulf region.
This landmark edition marked a historic milestone in EU-GCC relations, bringing together H.E. Maroš Šefčovič, European Commissioner for Trade; H.H. Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of Kuwait; and H.E. Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the GCC. The forum gathered over 600 participants, including major industrial players, SMEs, and innovative startups, to explore new avenues of cooperation in clean energy, digital transformation, infrastructure, food security, and sustainable investment.
Another highlight of the Kuwait visit was the high-level meeting between ECCKSA CEO Kristijonas Gedvilas and Commissioner Šefčovič, which focused on the Chamber’s development since its inception and its growing role in strengthening the business and investment environment for European companies in Saudi Arabia.
The exchange underscored ECCKSA’s commitment to working closely with institutional stakeholders in both the European Union and Saudi Arabia at the highest level, to reflect European business priorities in ongoing economic cooperation. Through strategic insights and direct engagement, ECCKSA contributes to regulatory improvements that enhance market access and competitiveness for European businesses in Saudi Arabia.
